Exhibitions 2010

 "Bisbee 2010"  featuring nine unique local artists:
 Eva Arenas,  Madeleine Charron, Leon Haller,  Justin Larson,  Richard Jeltes, Mina Tang Kan,  Karen Kyler,  Jan Searle and Archie Sutton.  Opening  reception on Saturday,  January 16 from 3 to 5 PM.

March 13 to April 29, 201
  "Spring Gardens"  featuring the work of Eva Arenas and other painters. Opening reception Saturday,  March 13 from 3 to 5 PM

May 1 to June 10, 2010
 "Serenity" featuring the halcyon atmospheric oil paintings of Suzanne Onodera. Opening reception in honor of the artist on Saturday,  May 1 from 3 to 5 PM.

June 12 to August 12, 2010
 "Watercolors of the West"  featuring  five outstanding watercolor artists.  Opening reception on Saturday,  June 12 from 3 to 5 PM.

August 14 to September 9   -   "Bravo Brasil!"    featuring Carmem Gusmao  with marvelous new paintings from Brazil.   Opening reception on Saturday,  August 14th from 3 to 5 PM.   Come and meet Carmem and see her new work!

September 11 to October 28  -  "Rust and Shine"    an exhibition featuring three unique metal sculptors:   Gary Beals with his geometric "bindings",  Richard Jeltes with his found desert metal sculptures,   and Archie Sutton with his colorful copperworks.   An opening reception for the artists on Saturday,  September 11th from 3 to 5 PM.

November 6 to December 2  -  "Pebbles"    an extraordinary exhibition of surreallistic oil paintings by nationally known herpetologist and artist John Agnew from Cincinnati,  Ohio.   A reception for the artist on Saturday,  November 6 from 3 to 5 PM.

December 4 to December 30 -  "Over the Edge"    a contemporary painting exhibition from her Los Angeles gallery by Tang Gallery director Mina Tang Kan.   An opening reception will be held on Saturday,  December 4 from 3 to 5 PM.

January 24th to March 5th, 2009  -  "Jan's Journeys"
colorful recent paintings by our local artist Jan Searle from
her travels this year.  Opening Reception for the artist on Saturday,  January 24th from 3 to 5 PM.

March 7th to April 16th, 2009  -  "Red Rock"  -   impressions and abstractions of the southwest by distinguished painter Dael Patton.  Opening Reception for the artist on Saturday,  March 7 from 3 to 5 PM.

April 18th to May 28th, 2009  -   Popular artist  Dan Desmond returns for an exhibition of his recent paintings.  Opening reception for the artist on Saturday,  April 18th from 3 to 5 PM.

June 6th to July 30th, 2009  -  "The Glass Menagerie"  -  a collection of large and small whimsical and colorful glass creatures by glass animal artist Karen Pester.   Opening reception for the artist on Saturday,  June 6th from 3 to 5 PM.

August 8 to September 10, 2009
            “August Inspirations”  - colorful oil monoprints by local artist Karen Kyler.  Opening reception on Saturday,  August 8 from 5 to 7 PM  as part of the “Bisbee after 5”  Artwalk.    Drum Concert.

September 12 to October 15, 2009
            “Copperworks” - sculpture by local artist Archie Sutton in his  first ever one man  exhibition.   Made from copper, wood, acrylic and much mixed media.  Opening    
reception for the artist on Saturday,  September 12 from 5 to 7 as part of the “Bisbee after 5”  Artwalk.

October 17 to December 3, 2009
            “Ed Young Drawings” -  a selection of original drawings by celebrated childrens’ book writer and artist Ed Young,  winner of the Caldecott Award for childrens’ books.  Ed Young will  be  honored at an opening reception on Saturday,  October 17  from 3 to 5 PM.  Members of his family from Beijing and New York will join in the celebration of our 8th anniversary.

December 5 , 2009 to January 14, 2010
            “Art to Wear”  a collection of seven wearable art artists and eight  jewelers making unique,  one of a kind wearable art.  Carmem Gusmao will be here from Brazil to show her work!   Opening reception on Saturday, December 5th from 3 to 5 PM.

Collection of paintings by eleven outstanding local

February 23rd to April 3rd, 2008  -  "Time and Space"
showing new work by abstract artist Claudia Schlosser.
 There will be an opening reception in her honor on
Saturday,  February 23rd from 3 to 5 PM.
 
April 5th to May 22nd, 2008  -  "Canyonlands"  an exhibition of paintings and photographs of the   beautiful canyons of Arizona and Utah.  Opening reception on Saturday,  April 5th from 3 to 5.

June 1st to July 31st, 2008  -  "The Muses of Summer",  an exhibition of nine favorite gallery artists.  The Cochise College Creative Writing Group will read their work at the opening reception on Saturday,  June 14th from 2 to 5 PM.

August 1st to September 4th, 2008 -  Full size watercolors by Bob Doughty and powerful monoprints by Sheila Newmark.  Meet the artists at the opening reception on Saturday,  August 9th from 2 to 5 PM.

September 6th to October 23rd, 2008 -  "Amazonia"  by Carmem Gusmao,  who will bring her recent work to Bisbee after a triumphant exhibition at the Barnsdall Museum in Los Angeles and the Eco Fest in Venice.  Opening reception for the artist on Saturday,  September 6th,  from 3 to 5,   which will coincide with the Plein Air Festival in Bisbee.

October 25th to November 30th, 2008 -  Abstract aluminum sculpture by Gary Beals,  who has just finished an exhibition in Scottsdale,  Arizona, and recent paintings by Frances Nebolon.  Opening reception on Saturday,  October 25th from 3 to 5 PM.

December 6th, 2008 to January 22nd, 2009 -  "Cool Landscapes"  an exhibition of recent work by Mina Tang Kan,  following her exhibiton at the Village Gallery in Los Angeles. Opening Reception on Saturday,  December 6th from 3 to 5.

January 13 to February 28th, 2007
- "Bisbee 2007" -
an Exhibition of new work by nine local artists featuring large landscape paintings, delicate watercolors, colorful oil and acrylic paintings, and oil monoprints. Opening reception on Saturday, January 13th from 3 to 5 PM.

March 10 to April 12th, 2007span>
- "Cats are Cats" -
drawings by prizewinning artist Ed Young from his book "Cats are Cats" published by Philomel Books. Also a collection of cats in oil and watercolor paintings, ceramics and glass.
Opening reception on Saturday, March 10th from 3 to 5.

April 14 to May 10th, 2007
- "Quilted Abstractions" -
A first one woman show by Colorado fiber artist Pauline Bustamante, featuring unique abstract textile paintings. Opening reception on Saturday, April 14th from 3 to 5 PM.

May 12 to June 7th, 2007
- "Feeling into Form" -
a two artist show featuring monoprint printmaker Karen Kyler and sculptor in stone and wood Kirk McCoy with their new work.

“Summerscapes”  featuring a Director’s Choice of  seven outstanding painters in the Tang Gallery. 

August 11 to September 6, 2007
 “New Work” by the ceramic artist Richard McColl and acrylic paintings and oil monoprints by Mina Tang Kan.  There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, August 11 from 3 to  5 PM.

September 8 to October 11, 2007   
“Abstract or Not? featuring popular artists  Dan Desmond and Marianne Strehler who are returning for their 4th exhibition at the Tang Gallery.  You are invited to see their new and different work. The opening reception will be Saturday, September 8 from        3 to 5 PM.

October 13 to November 1, 2007
      “Turkish and Amazonian Dreams”  featuring  unusual digital images by computer graphic artist Dona Geib,  who uses boards,  wood,  silk,  wax encaustic and gold leaf to enhance her  unique work based on her travels in Turkey and Brazil.  The Brazilian artist and jeweler Carmem Gusmao will also be coming to the reception with some of her new work.  There will be an opening reception for the artists on Saturday, October 13from 3 to 5 PM.

 November 3 to December 6, 2007
   “From the Fire Tower” featuring colorful pastels and oil paintings by the popular Bisbee artist Jan Searle,  from her summer at the fire tower in the Chiricahua National Forest. Opening         reception for the artist on Saturday, November 3 from 3 to 5 PM

December 8, 2007 to January 10, 2008
“Small Treasures”,   a collection of exquisite small paintings and sculptures by members of the Rembrandt Crew and other artists for holiday viewing and gifting.  HoHot mulled wine, hot apple cider and homemade cookies will be served at the reception on Saturday, December 8 from 3 to 5 PM.
